The Habersham County Sheriff's Office School Resource Officer Program offers our youth an understanding of the law enforcement profession while actually going through the same training and work with the same gear that our deputies utilize on a daily basis.

This program is designed for students 14 years of age or older who have completed ninth grade and are interested in a career in law enforcement.

The Explorers program teaches students skills that could help them become our next generation of leaders.

Our Explorers take part in building clearing, basic self-defense, understanding Georgia law, evidence collection, traffic direction, and more.

Students participating in the Explorers program also have opportunities to assist the Sheriff's Office by participating in community service projects.

The concept of teamwork is stressed constantly, as are the traits of discipline, professionalism, self-esteem, and service to the community.
