CHOOSING HEALTHY ACTIVITIES AND METHODS PROMOTING SAFETY (C.H.A.M.P.S.)

Deputies assigned to the School Resource Officer Program also participate in C.H.A.M.P.S.
Today's students face dangers older generations could not have imaged.
C.H.A.M.P.S. was founded in 2003 by the Georgia Sheriff's Association to address those urgent challenges.
Members of the SRO program are equipped with C.H.A.M.P.S. lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, and student workbooks.
Those lesson plans include but are not limited to bullying, gangs, Internet safety, stress, tobacco, firearms safety, alcohol, peer pressure, and graduation.
Habersham County SRO Program also has the ability to teach these lesson plans in Spanish.
